School Bus Barn in Connecticut

Public complaints of diesel fumes from buses at a nearby school activated the request for AEG services from the School Department. As a result of these public complaints, AEG conducted a thorough investigation of ambient air quality at the property in order to gauge for the presence of contaminants associated with the combustion of diesel fuel. As a result, AEG sampled and screened the ambient air for constituents typically emitted within diesel exhaust. Findings of the investigation showed that constituents targeted during the investigation were not observed above regulatory levels. However, particulate matter (nuisance dust) was elevated in some instances. As a result, AEG provided recommendations to limit the amount of particulate, which appeared to be disturbed from the road surface by vehicular traffic.
