AEG was contracted to investigate a possible release of oil and or hazardous substances from two dry wells at this property. An excavator was used to excavate test pits around the dry wells. Upon uncovering soils, AEG observed visual and olfactory evidence of contamination in and around the areas of the two former dry wells. Subsequent to these findings, AEG conducted extensive soil removal activities to eliminate impacted soils. Soil exactions were completed to the bedrock surface and directed through the use of a photo-ionization detector (PID). Once excavations were completed confirmatory samples were collected and the hole was backfilled. Currently, AEG is working in congruence with the state of Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) to place the property into compliance with state regulations.
