ASTM or AAI Phase I ESAs

AEG has conducted hundreds of Phase I ESAs in Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Our Phase I ESA investigation consists of a site reconnaissance, local agency review, state and federal file review, owner/occupant interviews, historical use research, and physical/geographic feature determination.

AEG provides clearly stated reports that can be tailored to your requirements. AEG strives to meet your deadlines and to work with you to clarify your environmental needs.

Example Project:
     Commercial Property, Providence, RI

Phase II ESAs

AEG has conducted hundreds of Phase II ESAs, which are typically recommended when a potential source of contamination has been discovered, either through an environmental consultant's Phase I ESA or an owner's knowledge. Phase II ESAs usually consist of soil and groundwater sampling, but may also include air, building materials, or process waste sampling, drain discharge line determination, and physical feature investigations (such as locating USTs, septic testing or fill testing). Phase II ESAs encompass a wide range of services that are tailored to your site.

     Service Station, Warwick, RI
Massachusetts

Soil and Groundwater Sampling

AEG has conducted numerous types of sampling. No two jobs are the same, so AEG designs a testing program for each site and project. Testing programs may include petroleum products and fingerprinting, hazardous materials, metals, PCBs, disposal requirements, pesticides/fertilizers, VOCs and SVOCs.

Example Projects:
     Illegal Dumping Release
     LUST: Main Street, Pawtucket, RI
Chlorinated Solvent Release: Industrial Property, Johnston, RI
Plating Facility: Plating Facility, Providence, RI

Building Materials Sampling

Environmentally challenged buildings may have been constructed from now-banned materials, affected by hazardous process wastes, or have a moisture issue that could lead to mold or structural damage. AEG can help to identify building materials issues.

Example Projects:
Process Contamination: Conant Street, Pawtucket, RI
     Asbestos/LBP: Carrington Street, Lincoln, RI
     Moisture/Mold: Office Building, Beverly, MA

Landfill Monitoring

Whether you have an active landfill or a historical dumping ground, AEG can provide groundwater sampling and methane sampling to determine environmental concerns or to determine the effectiveness of a cap.

Air Monitoring

  Indoor Air

Indoor air quality can be compromised in your home, at work, at school, or in other public places. Indoor air quality can be affected by groundwater contamination, vehicular traffic, industrial emissions, geological formations or mold spores. Some people are more sensitive to airborne contaminants due to allergies, asthma or compromised immune systems. AEG can develop a testing program to determine levels of contaminants, compare the results to applicable standards, and design and implement remedial measures.

     Example Projects:
       Mold Spores
       Radon: Jefferson Boulevard, RI
Chemical Vapors: Smith Street, Providence, RI
Petroleum Constituents: Smith Street, Providence, RI

  Ambient Air

Many of the same constituents that affect indoor air may also be a problem outside in areas of high traffic or industrial use. AEG can design and implement a testing program for ambient air to determine whether levels of contaminants are a concern, and to consult on pahtways to reduce the generation of contaminants and impacts to health.

     Example Project:
         School Bus Barn, CT

  Facility Emissions

Stationary sources of exhaust or other air emissions are often regulated by local, state and federal agencies. AEG can perform emergency or routine monitoring, and prepare and submit required applications to meet compliance requirements.

     Example Project:
         Industrial Manufacturer, Providence, RI
