AEG was contracted during redevelopment of this property to remove a 4,000-gallon fuel oil underground storage tank (UST) that was installed at this commercial facility approximately 28 years ago. Under Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) approval, AEG supervised sludge removal and cleaning the tank of residual fuel oil. Once the tank had been cleaned and vapor levels were acceptable, it was removed. Visual observation of the tank and tank grave soils were combined with field screening results to determine the need for soil removal. Confirmatory soil samples were collected from the exavation and submitted for analytical testing, which revealed non-detectable levels of petroleum constituents. AEG efforts allowed for the continuation of a redevelopment plan at this property.
