This CERCLIS property had been identified by Rhode Island Department of Environmental Management (RIDEM) and the USEPA due to chlorinated solvent releases to the environment from former operations and occupants. The property had been abandoned and the existing building was extremely dilapidated from lack of maintenance and was causing structural damage to adjacent property. AEG was contracted by a neighboring property owner to develop and implement a Remedial Action Work Plan that would grant him ownership of the contaminated property. AEG developed the design and received approval from RIDEM. Contaminated soil was removed and the subsurface portion of the groundwater remedial system was installed. Installation of the mechanical portion of the system is complete and the building has been renovated. This property is now back in productive use while levels of contaminants in groundwater are being reduced through active remediation..
